    would there be any way to network with or contact those in areas of interest?

    for example, I'm going to be studying abroad in Japan next year and it would be great to find out if any of the 2.2% of JM readers from Japan would be in the area.

    I'm not sure of a safe and comfortable way to disclose that info.

    Christarchy Forums may be a good place to start, although admittedly, as JM and Christarchy aren't linked totally yet, there's no guarantee of the Japanese readers being there....
