  • Fantastic article. Great points on widening a christological focus to make it fully trinitarian.
  • Do you know anything about their theological credentials? Or even who they quote theologically a lot--their theological influences?
  • Hmm.. I can't say I know their "credentials" if you mean what schools each have attended. I remember Alan talking about beginning a doctorate at Fuller.. not sure if he ever did so. The books and authors they quote are more or less the books and authors I quote myself.
  • Actually, in terms of influence there is one piece I can point to. Alan is a Messianic Jew. I think that gives him some breadth and depth and perspective that can be very helpful, particularly seeing the impact of dualism on our theology and practice.
  • I completely empathize with the attitude of "even a problem book is good if it gets you to think", and think it does. It's the books that shunt the thinking process that one need be most wary of.

    I'll have to say though, as my current stack is getting dangerously high, I'll probably just leave it at the review here. Thank you - I'd honestly never heard some of the concepts presented above, and reading your article was quite the learning experience.
