Thanks Tom. I'm glad someone finally asked that!

The author for that particular image (which is originally graffiti) never has explained why there is a dollar sign. I'm sure s/he has his/her own reasons for doing that.

However, in my mind, it is leaves for open ended interpretation:

It could be a general communist sort of indictment of religion. After all, the name of Jesus has been twisted for economic and political gain. In this case, we show the image because we want to expose that sort of Jesus as a false Jesus. Or it could simply be an illustration of Jesus saying "where your treasure is, there is your heart." No matter how one interprets the image, I think it raises all sorts of questions that we're addressing at Jesus Manifesto.

In no way do I mean it to disrespect Jesus. After all, that isn't a picture of Jesus...it is an artists rendering of the Jesus inside their head.

My hope is that JM will be better than ever...we're hoping for more content, generally better content, more user contributions, and a greater sharing of editorial roles. Please spread the word that we're back up...we've lost readers during the 1.5 months we've been down.

Apparently, some stuff got lost in the transfer. I HOPE that the original pdfs are sitting at my office computer. If not, then I may need to beg folks that downloaded the pdfs to sent them to me so that I can upload them again.

New look is pretty, but the RSS feed now only contains the first few sentences, whereas the old feed contained the full article. Any chance of getting the full article feeds back?

Oh, and the "Subscribe" page just has some Wordpress filler text.
